Katherine Folger Pelfrey was a 34-year-old County teacher who was arrested on January 3rd, 2022 for having an affair with a student aged 16-17 of her class.

A Pickens County teacher was detained when it was discovered that they had been having s3x at her house. Following an investigation into the teacher’s relationship with a former student, detectives with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Victims Unit detained a 34-year-old former teacher with the Pickens County School District.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office was alerted on December 31, 2021, by a party who had just learned about the relationship, which launched an investigation into the occurrence.

She was arrested while employed as a teacher by the Pickens County School District as a result of the whistleblower informing the pickens county sheriff’s office and initiating an inquiry. Perfrey met and brought the victims “at various locations,” according to the warrant.

In addition to the sexual abuse charges against a 16- to 17-year-old student, Clemson’s Katherine Folger-Pelfrey, 34, has also been charged with complicity in the delinquency of a minor. She was arrested on Monday, and the next day she was released from the Pickens County Detention Center on bail totaling $10,000.

We appreciate the work of our law enforcement in dealing with this incident. Pelfrey was arraigned at the Pickens County Detention Facility and later released on a bond of $10,000.
