When did Steve-O become sober?

Written by Andrew Walker — 0 Views

Steve-O: Demise and Rise, a documentary about Jackass star Steve-O’s “descent into madness” while addicted to drugs, premiered on MTV in 2009. “When I viewed the tape of myself doing drugs, I felt like I could see them, I could taste them.

It made me want them, and as awful as the video was, it just seemed like more incentive to go high. “I couldn’t watch it; I haven’t watched it since,” he recalled years later of the special.

“It’s better than the producers put it all together and finished it without any involvement from me.” Steve-O has since overcome his addiction, and he marked 13 years of recovery with a “grateful” tweet on Wednesday.

“Thank you to everyone who helped me get here!” he tweeted. On the left, in a 2006 photo, he’s surrounded by pills, drink, and blood (? ), and appears to be strung up. On the right, the medicines and cigarettes have been replaced by vegetables, and he appears happy and healthy as of 2021.

When did Steve-O become sober?

Steve-O has been sober since at least 2009, following his own public problems with drug and alcohol addiction. Margera’s recent relapse follows a turbulent 2022 in which he began drinking again shortly after celebrating a year of sobriety.
