US-based Nigerian Arrested For Killing His Bestie Over Unpaid Debts And Leaving Victim’s Son To Die In Hot Car

Bolanle Fadairo, a Nigerian man based in the United States of America has reportedly been arrested by the police in Houston for shooting his bestfriend to death and leaving the victim’s son to die in a hot car.

The arrest of the suspect was made on Wednesday 21st September 2022 and was charged in connection with the deaths of 38-year-old Michael Essien and his son with two charges of murder and one count of tampering with evidence.

After a disagreement outside a strip mall in the 5500 block of El Camino Del Rey and Chimney Rock on Tuesday, September 20, Fadairo was suspected of shooting Essien multiple times.

According to a press statement from the Houston Police Department, the victim and Fadairo who acknowledged knowing Essien for roughly 30 years had a brief conversation and even got into a fight before Fadairo shot the victim.

Essien’s 2-year-old son was then allegedly placed in a car seat in the third row of Essien’s black Chevrolet Traverse while Fadairo fled the scene. According to police, the boy was found lifeless inside the SUV when officers discovered it at around 7:10 PM after breaking its glass.

The cause of the little boy’s death is yet to be known but the police suspects that he died the heat exhaust in the car.

Upon interrogation, Fadairo admitted to the crime, saying the Essien owed him money and pretended to have no knowledge of it. He also said that he deleted incriminating text messages between him and his victim from his mobile phone. However, he claims to have no knowledge of the boy in rear seat.
