Toyin was born in Agbamu, Kwara State.

She is the aunt of the award winning filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan.

Career

Toyin Afolayan was introduced into acting by Kunle’s father, Adeyemi Afolayan (Ade Love)

She rose to fame in 1995 for her role as Mama Adisa in the movie “Deadly Affair.

She also starred in as Kunle’s mother in the movie “Irapada” whuch was produced by her nephew, Kunle Afolayan.

Lola Idije has also starred in other movies such as; Lady Terror, Papa and Mammy, Igba Eda.

Toyin Afolayan has three daughter. her first daughter is married with children while her second daughter got married on June 16, 2016.

She lost her husband and only son many years ago.
