R. A. Salvatore is one of the most popular and richest Writer who was born on January 20, 1959 in Leominster, Massachusetts, United States. Robert Anthony Salvatore was born January 20, 1959. He is an American author. His most notable works include The DemonWars Saga, his Forgotten Realms novels for which he created Drizzt Do’Urden, and Vector Prime, the debut novel in Star Wars: The New Jedi Order. His books have sold over 15 million copies in the United States, and 22 of his titles are New York Times bestsellers.

Salvatore was given the task of writing Vector Prime in 1999. This novel was the first in Star Wars: The New Jedi Order. Vector Prime was controversial among Star Wars fans. However, it was Randy Stradley who was then Dark Horse Comics’ editor.

In February 2008, Devil’s Due Publishing published Spooks, a comic book about a U.S. government anti-paranormal investigator/task force created by Larry Hama and Salvatore. Hama created the military characters and plots, and Salvatore covered the monster characters.

In 2010, Wizards of the Coast announced a new deal with Salvatore to write six more books featuring Drizzt the dark elf. The books were released between 2011 and 2016.

His letters, manuscripts and other professional papers were given to the R.A. Salvatore Collection at Fitchburg State University, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, in the fall 1997.

Salvatore was the youngest child in a seven-member family, and was born in Leominster Massachusetts. Salvatore is a Leominster High School graduate. His high school English teacher was instrumental in his growth as a writer. After receiving J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings as a Christmas present, Salvatore became interested in fantasy during his time at Fitchburg State College. He became interested in fantasy and other literature. He quickly changed his major from computer science, to journalist. Fitchburg awarded him a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Communications/Media. This degree was his first. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. He was a bouncer before he started writing full-time. His bouncer experience is what he attributes to the vivid and intense battle scenes he has fought.

He began to write more seriously in 1982 and created a manuscript called Echoes of the Fourth Magic. The setting for Ynis Aielle was created by Salvatore, who wrote it longhand in candlelight. Salvatore stated that he got the contract for his first comic when he finished the script for Echoes of the Fourth Magic and sent it to TSR and other publishers. TSR was searching for an author to create the Forgotten Realms 2nd book and invited Salvatore audition. Salvatore was selected to write the book in July 1987. In 1988, Salvatore published The Crystal Shard, his first novel. Salvatore’s The Legacy (1992) was the first hardcover novel published by TSR. TSR’s management selected a new author to tell stories about Drizzt after Passage to Dawn (1996). Mark Anthony’s Drizzt story The Shores of Dusk was complete by the time Wizards of the Coast purchased TSR. Wizards decided not to publish it and instead brought Salvatore to the table to write about Drizzt. The Origins Award was won that year for The Silent Blade. Salvatore published several books in the Forgotten Realms campaign universe, and his Star Wars books and Demon Wars sagas have helped to increase his popularity.

In addition to his novels, Salvatore wrote the story for the PS2, Xbox and PC video game Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone (2004), working with the design team at Stormfront Studios. The game was published by Atari and was nominated for awards by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and BAFTA. CDS books commissioned him to edit a four book series based on the interactive online EverQuest game. He also wrote the bot chat lines for the Quake III bots.

Salvatore was hired as creative director for upstart game developer 38 Studios, which was owned by former baseball player Curt Schilling. He wrote the dialogue and created a backstory spanning ten thousand years for the fantasy game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, which was released in February 2012, and sold over one million units. However, three months later 38 Studios declared bankruptcy and ceased operations. The company laid off its entire staff, including Salvatore, with the $2 million fee for his services having never been paid. Salvatore claimed he harbored no ill will toward Schilling in a 2014 interview with The Escapist. “Why would I sue Curt [for the $2 million]? Maybe he made a couple of bad business decisions … [but] he didn’t do anything nefarious, and he got wiped out. He’s lying in the gutter and you want me to kick him in the head? Why would anyone do that?”
