In Brisbane, Australia, in September 2016, Gadecki made her ITF Circuit debut in the main draw. Gadecki advanced to the second round of the Australian Open qualifying in January 2021. She received a wildcard for the Gippsland Trophy, where she competed in the main draw for the first time on the WTA Tour.

Gadecki achieved her first WTA Tour singles main-draw victory at the Phillip Island Trophy in February. She then defeated world No. 4 and top seed, former Australian Open winner Sofia Kenin, in her first top-10 victory. This was Kenin’s worst loss by ranking on the WTA Tour; Gadecki’s career-high ranking was No. 988.

She won the singles and doubles championships at Vigo, Spain, in August 2021. She won her fifth doubles title and second solo title. Gadecki made his debut in the top 10 of the Australian singles and doubles rankings on September 20, 2021. She had a singles rating of 238 at the end of the year.

Due to her anti-vaccination attitude and the necessity that all competitors have a Covid-19 immunization before competing, Gadecki withdrew from the 2022 Australian Open. Gadecki entered the WTA top 200 in April 2022 after making four appearances on the Australian Pro Tour and reaching three finals.
