Saffron Hocking is an English actress best known for her roles in the film Strangeways Here We Come (2018) and the Netflix series Top Boy (2019-), the latter of which earned her a British Academy Television Award nomination.

Saffron Hocking is from Greenwich, South East London, and graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in 2014.

After graduating from ALRA, Saffron Hocking starred in Richard Bean’s 2014 play Pitcairn, which had its world premiere at the Minerva Theater in Chichester before performing at Shakespeare’s Globe and touring with Out of Seal. The following year, Saffron Hocking made her television debut with an appearance on the BBC One series Doctors and Partners in Crime.

Saffron Hocking played Lima in the 2016 Irish miniseries Smalltown and had a recurring role as Emma Lyndsey in the 2017 BBC Two sitcom White Gold. She made her debut in the 2018 comedy series Strangeways Here We Come TV. She also had a small role in Acorn TV’s police procedural drama, London Kills.

In 2019, Saffron Hocking joined the cast of Top Boy for the series 3 revival on Netflix in the recurring role of Lauryn Lawrence. She was promoted to the lead role in the fourth series of Top Boy and later received a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance.

In 2022, Saffron Hocking starred in the music video for Stormzy’s Hide & Seek and appeared in the ITVX television series Riches and the first episode of the Disney+ series Moon Knight. Saffron Hocking is about to have a role in the second season of Amazon Prime’s horror film The Devil’s Hour.

Saffron Hocking is an ambassador for Refugees, reaching out to the charity when she was looking to portray her Top Boy character’s history of domestic violence.
