Mavado’s Son, Dante Brooks, Faces Murder Trial On 7th January 2021
Dante Brooks, son of award-winning Jamaican Deejay and dancehall heavyweight champion, Mavado, will begin his murder trial on 7th January 2021.

Brooks, 18 and his friend Andre Hines, 23 were charged with the murder of one Lorenzo Thomas, popularly known as Trulups or Israel on 5th June 2018 at Cassava Piece, St Andrew, a residential neighbourhood located in uptown Kingston, Jamaica.
The young men have been held in juvenile detention in Kingston since 2018 and charged with conspiracy to murder, shooting with intent, arson and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition as a witness statement given to the police revealed that Dante gave his co-accused, Hines the order to behead Lorenzo on that day.

He has constantly denied the allegations leveled against him and also denied bail countless times since his arrest at age 17. Since he has turned 19, he will be put on trial as an adult by the Judge alone as his lawyers have requested.
“This decision was arrived at, having taken into consideration a number of factors. Our client is confident that when all the evidence is heard, he will be vindicated,” Queen’s Counsel Peter Champagnie.

Andre Hines, who allegedly severed Lorenzo’s head partially is represented by one of Jamaica’s finest Lawyer’s, Kemar Robinson.
