Kit Hesketh-Harvey Children: Meet Kit Hesketh-Harvey’s Children – Born in Nyasaland (present-day Malawi), Kit Hesketh-Harvey was raised in a Foreign Office family.
He received his education as a senior chorister at Canterbury Cathedral and Tonbridge School in Kent. At Cambridge University’s Clare College, he was awarded an Exhibition in English Literature and a choral scholarship. There, he studied under John Rutter and was a member of the Footlights.
Hesketh-Harvey is a multi-talented individual who has worked in various areas of the arts and entertainment industry. He started his career as a staff producer for the BBC-TV Music and Arts Department, where he worked for six years.
During this time, he was able to hone his skills and develop his craft. He then left the BBC to write the script for Merchant Ivory’s Maurice (1987), which would be his first major work. This work earned him the 1988 Vivian Ellis Award for musical theatre writers, and he would later go on to study with the legendary Stephen Sondheim.

Hesketh-Harvey has written and co-written various works, including Full Throttle, starring Rowan Atkinson, Hans Andersen: My Life as a Fairytale (Hallmark), and the screenplay for Tim Walker’s film The Lost Explorer. He also wrote his first detective novel, For The Shooting, which was published in October 2017.
As a performer, he wrote and sang with pianist Richard Sisson for over 30 years as a musical comedy duo known as Kit and The Widow. They performed at West End and Broadway theatres and went on international tours, including a tour with the late Joan Rivers. They also had their own series on BBC Radios 3 and 4, as well as two TV specials on Channel 4.
Hesketh-Harvey has starred in various productions, including Salad Days at the Vaudeville Theatre, Tom Foolery (Jermyn Street and national tour), and Cowardy Custard (national tour) with Dillie Keane. He co-starred with Tim Minchin in the first BBC Comedy Prom at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011 and made occasional appearances on various BBC Radio 4 series, such as Just a Minute and Quote Unquote. He also presented one-off documentaries on off-beat subjects for Radio 4.

As a playwright, he has written several plays, including Five O’Clock Angel at the Hampstead Theatre, and his radio play A La Villa Bab Azzoun, produced by Moving Theatre, won the 2009 Prix Europa. He wrote regularly for Country Life magazine and was awarded the 2009 IPC’s Writer of the Year.
In the world of opera, Hesketh-Harvey has translated several operas and written original libretti, including Varjak Paw and The Caribbean Tempest. He has directed his own adaptations of La Belle Hélène and La Traviata, and his translation of The Magic Flute was revived in 2012-13 in the Scottish Opera’s production, directed by Sir Thomas Allen.
He has also translated Salvatore Sciarrino’s The Killing Flower (Royal Opera) and updated Donizetti’s comic opera Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali, which was performed in July 2022 as part of the Buxton International Festival.

He has two children – Rollo Constantine Rabett Hesketh-Harvey, and Augusta Grace Hesketh-Harvey.
Kit Hesketh-Harvey is well-known for his work in the entertainment industry, but his children have not followed in his footsteps and their professional careers and personal lives are not known to the public. In general, it is common for the children of celebrities to have their privacy protected and to not be thrust into the public eye, unless they choose to pursue careers in the entertainment industry themselves.
