Odom (January 6 1982 until November 5 the 5th of November, 2009) was an minor league right-handed baseball pitcher who was notable for being sold to acquire ten bats for baseball when being a part of the independent Golden Baseball League in May 2008. Before joining the Golden Baseball League, Odom played baseball at Tallahassee Community College and in the minor league system of the San Francisco Giants.

The Giants let go of Odom in the spring of 2008. Then, in May, he signed for The Calgary Vipers of the Golden Baseball League however an entry on his criminal history, a 1999 conviction for aggravated assault, when he was just a teenager and a minor, stopped him from entering Canada. The Vipers were willing to offer Odom with their Laredo Broncos for a Bronco player, but the player would not move to Calgary. They Broncos were then willing to offer $1000 in cash in exchange for Odom however, the Vipers believed that cash offers led to the team appearing financially unstable. The two teams came to an agreement on the 20th of May to trade Odom for 10 Prairie Sticks with maple bats for a total value of $665.

On the 5th November 2008, Odom passed away from an accidental overdose of methamphetamine, heroin, alcohol, and benzylpiperazine. The night was an election day and the family of Odom claimed that Odom had been out drinking the night before. Dan Shwam, Odom’s former Broncos manager, says that the reaction of the media and fans to Odom’s trade “drove him back to the bottle, that it put him on the road to drugs again.”
