FW De Klerk, aged 85 has died on Thursday. His wife Elita Georgiades and three children were standing next to him when he took his last breath. 

The full name of FW De Klerk is Frederik Willem de Klerk born on 18 March 1936, and died on November 11, 2021.

Former state president of apartheid South Africa FW De Clerk was a popular seventh state president of South Africa. From 1989 to 1994, he served in a presidential position and efficiently fulfilled his responsibilities. 

As per the recently updated news from News 24, Frederik Willem de Klerk passed away on Thursday at 85. He was battling cancer for many years. 

Dave Steward, a spokesperson of The FW de Klerk Foundation confirmed the death news to New 24 on Thursday. De Klerk was in his house in Frenaye when he expired.

FW De Klerk And His Second Wife Elita Georgiadis Are Living Together

FW De Klerk married twice. Before marrying Elita Georgiadis, his ex-wife’s name is Marike Willemse. They lived together for more than four decades. His ex-wife was the first lady of South Africa, and a renowned female politician served as a governor National Party. 

As per her Wikipedia page, Marike was murdered at her Dolphin Beach apartment in Blouberg, Cape Town, on December 3, 2001.

De Klerk and Marike are separated before her death. They filed and legally split in 1996.
