Ed Sheeran is no stranger to tattoos. The singer boasts an arm full of colourful images – a pawprint, a Lego head, a teacup, snowflakes and flames – but this time, he’s decided to decorate a different part of his body. His new chest piece is a majestic, vivid lion.

He posted a picture of the tattoo in progress on Instagram, aptly captioning it “Halfway and ouch”.

And, because he’s nothing if not polite, he didn’t forget to thank Kevin Paul, a Derby-based tattoo artist who did his new ink for him:
