As of October 2023, Don Gummer and his ex-wife, Meryl Streep are parents of four children: 30-year-old Louisa Jacobson, 37-year-old actor Grace Gummer, 40-year-old Mamie Gummer (also an actor), and 43-year-old singer/songwriter Henry Wolfe. They also share five grandchildren.

In October 2023, Don Gummer hit the headlines following reports that he and his wife, Meryl Streep have been living apart in recent years.

The news was confirmed by a representative of Meryl Streep in a statement on Saturday, 21 October,

“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart,” the representative said.

Don Gummer and her wife, Meryl Streep first married on September 30, 1978. In September 2023, they marked their 45th wedding anniversary.

Gummer and Streep were photographed at numerous events together over the years. They were last seen together in 2018.

As a sculptor, Gummer’s early work concentrated on table-top and wall-mounted sculpture but along the line (in the mid-1980s), he focused on large free-standing works, often in bronze.
