Fletcher, a native of Montreal and a 1990 Harvard University graduate, worked for Hockey Canada for a year as the organization’s sales and merchandising coordinator then for Newport Sports Management for two years as a player representative before switching to the Florida Panthers’ front office.

He has two children with his wife Rhonda, with whom he resides in Voorhees, New Jersey. Cliff Fletcher, a prominent hockey executive and former general manager, is his father.

Fletcher formerly served as the Minnesota Wild’s general manager from May 21, 2009, to April 23, 2018. Fletcher took up the position after serving as Ray Shero’s associate general manager for the Pittsburgh Penguins for three years.
