The Phinyx is holding a cupcake fundraiser this weekend to help raise funds for its upcoming performance. Saturday, July 27 the community is invited to order and enjoy homemade cupcakes from a local performer and it’s all for a great cause.
The Phinyx is raising funds for its upcoming theatrical performance in September. Cupcakes will be available for pick up Saturday at Drusilla BREC Park from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cupcakes can be delivered on Sunday, July 28 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Carly Laing 10th Annual Passing the Flag Event

The Nation of Patriots is hosting it’s 10th Annual Passing the Flag event this weekend in Baton Rouge. The nation of Patriots National Commander Paul Aubert said the Passing the Flag Event and Patriot Tour is a tribute to all armed forces personnel past, present, and fallen.
The tour starts in Wisconsin and with the help of over 100 motorcycle group chapters and other organizations nationwide a single American Flag is passed through 48 states over the course of 110 days and over 14,000 miles.
The Flag then returns to Wisconsin on September 7th, where it will rest until the next year’s tour. The flag will make it’s way to Baton Rouge Friday, July 26, and will be sent to the next stop on Saturday, July 27.
An event honoring the flag and its tour will be held Saturday. To donate funding to local military efforts or to participate in the passing of the flag visit The Nation of Patriots website.
