Brandon Beane Bio, Age, Parents, Wife, Children, Net Worth – Brandon Beane is a renowned American football executive who has served as the general manager for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL) since 2017.
Brandon Beane Biography
He was born on July 27, 1976. Prior to joining the Bills, Beane worked in the personnel department of the Carolina Panthers for 18 years, from 1998 to 2016.
Beane’s journey in the football industry started when he turned down a journalism job for a low-paying internship with the Carolina Panthers. With hard work and dedication, Beane eventually rose through the ranks and became the team’s assistant general manager. He has worked alongside several renowned names in football, including general managers Marty Hurney and Dave Gettleman, and with head coaches Dom Capers, George Seifert, John Fox, and Ron Rivera.
During his tenure with the Panthers, Beane helped the team appear in Super Bowls XXXVIII and 50. However, they lost to the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos, respectively.
On May 9, 2017, Beane joined the Buffalo Bills as the general manager, joining former Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, who had been hired as head coach. The Bills opted to hire Beane, someone familiar to McDermott, due to conflicts within the previous head coach-general manager tandems under Doug Whaley.
During Beane’s first season with the Bills, he traded away several players that Whaley had signed, drafted, or extended. Some sports commentators criticized his tactics, but Beane arguably had his sights on a long-term rebuild while purging unfavorable contracts for the Bills. Despite this, the Bills made it to the playoffs in 2017, breaking a 17-year playoff drought.
Since then, Beane has made several notable decisions, including drafting quarterback Josh Allen, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, and defensive tackle Ed Oliver. He also brought in numerous offensive free agents with the team’s new cap space. His efforts to rebuild the team paid off when the Bills won the AFC East in 2020.
On December 10, 2020, Beane signed a contract extension through 2025, demonstrating the trust the organization has in his abilities to lead the team towards success.
