Former professional American football player Brad William Benson (born November 25, 1955 in Altoona, Pennsylvania) was born on November 25, 1955 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He played offensive line for the New York Giants of the National Football League from 1978 to 1988, and he was a key part of the Giants’ Super Bowl XXI victory against the Denver Broncos in 1986. During the 1986 season, Benson was chosen to participate in the Pro Bowl. While attending Altoona Area High School, Benson was a member of the Penn State University football team from 1974 to 1976. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the eighth round of the 1977 NFL Draft, although he was never a member of their roster. The city of Flemington, New Jersey is where he now lives. He went into business for himself after retiring and started selling automobiles.
He is now the owner and operator of the Brad Benson Auto Group in South Brunswick, New Jersey, which specialises in the sale of Hyundai and Mitsubishi automobiles. Benson has starred in a number of advertisements for his companies on television and radio over the years, including one that included Lawrence Taylor and another that mocked former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, among others. In a subsequent advertisement, we heard Benson speak about the goalpost he bought from the old Giants Stadium, which he refers to as his “40-foot construction.” When the Qur’an-burning issue erupted in 2010, he ran an ad in which he promised Terry Jones, the guy responsible for the incident, a free vehicle if he reneged on his vow to destroy it. In the end, Jones changed his mind and picked up the new vehicle from Benson, donating it to a charitable organisation.
