Barna Barisic Parents: Who is Stipe Barišić? – Barna Barisic was born to Bosnian Croat parents in Osijek, in the eastern Croatian region of Slavonia.

On 11 January 2017, he made his Croatia national team debut in a friendly against Chile. He was named to Croatia’s preliminary 32-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia in May 2018 but did not make the final 23.

On March 21, 2019, he scored his first international goal in a 2-1 win over Azerbaijan in a home Euro 2020 qualifier. By the end of qualifying, he had secured a starting spot for the national team.

He joined Osijek’s youth academy in 2003 and stayed for eight years. He moved to nearby BSK Bijelo Brdo after failing to break into the first team.

He returned to Osijek after a single season with Bijelo Brdo. He made 23 Prva HNL appearances in his first season with the first team, making his debut on 12 July 2013 in a 3-1 loss to Dinamo Zagreb.

His first goal for Osijek came in the 88th minute against Lokomotiva on April 4, 2014. In the 2013-14 season, Osijek finished eighth.

The following season, he appeared in 28 games, scoring one goal and assisting twice as Osijek narrowly avoided relegation.

Despite his club’s struggles, Barii’s performance for Osijek in the 2014-15 season earned him a five-year contract with league champions Dinamo.

On July 19, 2015, he made his debut for his new club against his former club Osijek. However, in late August, Barii was loaned to Dinamo’s feeder club Lokomotiva. He appeared in 19 league games for Lokomotiva, recording two assists.

Osijek was bought out by Hungarian oligarch Lrinc Mészáros and Croatian entrepreneur Ivan Metrovi in February 2016, marking the club’s first private ownership.

The club’s new ownership has identified him as the type of player they want to represent them. He later agreed to the transfer and was named captain of his junior club.

He signed a four-year contract with Rangers in 2018 after a reported £2.2 million deal with Osijek. He signed after playing against Rangers in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round for 2018-19.

After an injury-plagued first season, on 29 December 2019, Barii assisted both goals and was named Man of the Match in Rangers’ first win at Celtic Park since 2010. On January 30, 2020, he signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2024.

He scored a brace from the penalty spot in a 4-3 away win over Royal Antwerp in the Europa League Round of 32 on 18 February 2021, his hundredth appearance for the club.
