She was transferred from the Economy, Employment, and Fair Work Committee to the Health and Sport Committee in November 2017, and she was given the position of deputy convener there.

Following Nicola Sturgeon’s resignation, Regan announced her candidacy for the 2023 SNP leadership position on February 18, 2023.
