Mitchell took part in the 4 x 400-meter relay competition at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, however she was unable to make it through the semifinals.

In the 2016 Summer Olympics, she competed for Australia in the Women’s 400m and Women’s 4 x 400 m Relay.

Her 400-meter personal best is 51.25 seconds, which she achieved in Birmingham in 2016.
