Andrew Whitworth Biography

Andrew Whitworth is an American football offensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals after he played college Football at LSU. He has also been voted four times in the Pro Bowl and named a First-Team All-Pro twice during his career.

Andrew is a native of Monroe in Louisiana where he attended West Monroe High School. He used to play for the Rebels in high school football matches under coach Don Shows. He then graduated in 2001. He was also a player for two Louisiana Class 5A State Championship teams from 1998 to 2000.

He, later on, became a part of four straight district championship teams in one of the hardest districts in the state. After that, he was also a tennis champion in Louisiana and also an excellent golfer. Andrew also took part in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game on December 30, 2000, along with others.

In the 2006 Draft, Andrew was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round. He made his NFL debut on special at Kansas City. He then started at left guard in his second game. He then piled up 481 yards against the Browns for the Bengals., Due to the number of injuries he had suffered he was placed in the lineup for the remainder season.

He also helped the offensive produce a season-high 545 yards and career-high 440 yards passing from Carson Palmer. He also had a key block against Rudi Johnson’s seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Andrew then agreed to a four -year extension worth $30 million agreed in principle on July 2008.

This would keep him in Cincinnati through 2013. He was then moved from guard to left tackle by head coach Marvin Lewis in 2009. He then began all 16 games of the season. He was for the first time named A left Tackle on the AFC Pro Bowl team. In the 2014 season, he was allowed zero sacks an only one hit on quarterback Andy Dalton. Andrew helped the Rams reach Super Bowl LIII after they beat the Dallas Boys Cowboys in the Divisional Round in 2018.
