Andre de Ruyter Wife: Who is Andre de Ruyter’s Wife? – André de Ruyter recently resigned as Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd’s Group Chief Executive (GCE).

André de Ruyter has worked in various energy portfolios both locally and internationally over the course of his 30-year career.

He has extensive management experience in the coal, oil, chemical, and gas industries, including marketing export coal to international utilities and overseeing the operations of very large coal and gas conversion plants, including electricity generation.

Andre de Ruyter was one of 142 candidates for the position of CEO of ESKOM. ESKOM employees made up eight of the 142. Pravin Gordhan, Minister of Enterprises, announced the new CEO.

Andre finished his primary education in Pretoria. He later attended Nyenrode Business Universiteit in the Netherlands, the University of South Africa, and the University of Pretoria.

De Ruyter’s experience and expertise span a number of disciplines, including, but not limited to, strategic leadership, commodities, sales, manufacturing and production, economic, finance and corporate structuring, legal and regulation, people management and socioeconomic development, corporate knowledge, governance and risk management, and knowledge of global markets and business operations.

Mr de Ruyter is a seasoned executive who has spent more than 20 years in a variety of senior management roles at the petrochemicals group Sasol.

From 2009 to 2014, he was a member of the Sasol group executive committee. He also spent time in China as President of China Ventures and in Germany as a business turnaround and management consultant. He was appointed CEO of Nampak in 2014, a position he left in January this year when he accepted the Group Chief Executive position at Eskom (2020).

Mr de Ruyter holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Netherlands’ Nyenrode Business University, a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of South Africa, as well as a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pretoria.

Some government ministers had accused De Ruyter of failing to properly address the crisis, which analysts say is the result of years of mismanagement, disrepair, and corruption.

De Ruyter took over as CEO of Eskom in January 2020 after leaving Nampak, a packaging company (NPKJ.J).
