7 crazy-cool costumes you haven't seen before
From vampires and witches to princesses and Transformers, you
probably think you’ve seen it all. Everyone seems to have the same costume on
Halloween, but that doesn’t mean you should. Where’s that creativity? Here are
a few super cute (and original) ideas so you won’t be caught twinning it with
the girl down the street.
Cute costume idea #1: Twister sister
Make yourself a really cute mod mini dress by taking the Twister game mat and taping it around your body. Hot glue the spinner to a headband to wear on your head, and voilà! Don’t forget rainbow socks!
Twister, $18, amazon.com
Cute costume idea #2: Truffula tree
Grab a pink wig or dye your hair pink then tease it beyond recognition (it needs to be big and bushy), then complete the look by powdering your entire face with pink blush. Wear all brown clothes for the trunk. If you’re feeling creative, put a bird on a headband and a teddy bear to your leg. See if you can get friends to dress up as the Lorax and the Once-ler.
Candy Pink Wig, $30, partycity.com
Cute costume idea #3: Flirty flamingo
Dress in all pink: It can be a leotard with tights, or pink jeans and a pink tee, whatever works. Then wrap pink feather boas around your neck and attach a few (using safety pins) to your clothes. Make sure everyone know what you are by wearing a black beak on your nose and stand on one leg for as long as you can manage.
Pink Feather Boa, $5, amazon.com
Cute costume idea #4: Prom Queen Zombie
Have an old dress hanging in the closet? Rip and tear parts of it and rub it in mud so gets dirty. Then, perfect your zombie makeup—fake blood and all. Don’t forget your tiara!
Princess Tiara with Heart Stones, $5, amazon.com
Cute costume idea #5: Be a bubble bath
Dress in all blue, then tape a duck-shaped floating device from the pool around you waist. Have somebody help you tape blown up blue and clear balloons onto your bod to look like bubbles. Instead of doing your hair, wrap a towel around you head. Rub-a-dub-dub.
Baby Duck Shape Inflatable Swimming Float Pool Ring Yellow, $10, amazon.com
Cute costume idea #6: Totally cool tornado
Dress in all black, then wrap brown tulle around your body. Tape small dolls and doll accessories to yourself like they are caught in the tornado. Mess up your hair and smudge some brown eyeliner on your cheek to complete the look.
Polly Pocket Dress-Up Party Set, $20, target.com
Cute costume idea #7: Floating jellyfish
Deck yourself in light blue--and then get a clear umbrella to draw a face on with sharpie. Finally, cut and tape blue and purple crepe paper streamers to the umbrella. When you hold it over your head, you’re a jellyfish!
Clear Bubble Umbrella, $17, target.com
